FARM BUREAU:

Trustees of the Missouri Farm Bureau FARM-PAC representing the 29th Senatorial District endorsed Jack Goodman (R- Mt. Vernon) for election to the Missouri Senate.

A special election November 8 has been called to fill the vacancy created by the death of Sen. Larry Taylor.  After reviewing candidate records and interviews, Farm Bureau FARM-PAC trustees agreed Goodman would best represent farmers and ranchers in Barry, Lawrence, McDonald, Ozark, Stone and Taney counties.  Goodman currently represents part of Lawrence County.

"As a member of the House leadership, Jack has been a proponent of property rights, alternative fuels and Farm Bureau supported legislation.  We believe we have endorsed the right man for the job," said Lane Baxter, chairman of the Farm Bureau 7th District FARM-PAC.

Another candidate considered for the endorsement was former state representative Nolan McNeill.
Missouri Farm Bureau's FARM-PAC is a political action committee consisting of trustees selected from each county in the state and divided by congressional district.  Trustees then endorse candidates for congressional and state senate seats.

NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION "A" RATING:
An A rating reflects that Jack Goodman is a "solid pro-Second Amendment/pro-hunting candidate who supports sportsmen and gun-owners on every issue."

SMALL BUSINESS ENDORSES JACK GOODMAN FOR STATE SENATE:
The National Federation of Independent Business in Missouri, the state's largest small-business advocacy organization, has endorsed Jack Goodman for state Senate, representing District 29.

The November 8 special election will be held to fill the Senate seat vacated earlier this year when Sen. Larry Taylor passed away.

As a member of the Missouri House, Goodman had a perfect, 100 percent NFIB voting record on issues critical to small business owners.

"Jack Goodman has been a longtime friend to small business and has always appreciated the important role small business plays in the Missouri economy," said Brad Jones, NFIB/Missouri state director.  "During his time in the Missouri House, Jack Goodman supported a number of critical initiatives to help small business owners be successful and he has the full support of the NFIB."

While serving in the Missouri House of Representatives, Goodman supported tort reform, an overhaul of the workers' compensation system and strengthening the voice of small-business owners in the regulatory arena.

"Small business had a very productive legislative session this year with the reforms to workers' compensation and the legal system," Jones said.  "But there is more work to be done and we cannot rest.  We need people like Jack Goodman to represent the interest of small business -- the backbone of this state's economy."
